Ian is a partner in the corporate technology team, specialising in advising corporate, technology and private investment clients on domestic and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions.

He has a specific focus on the technology and consumer sectors and is recognised as “particularly experienced in technology transactions”.

Ian advises a wide range of corporate and technology clients on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, corporate venturing and investment transactions. He also acts for private equity institutions, management teams and selling shareholders on private equity investments and related portfolio transactions.

Ian is the founder and former managing director of an investor funded technology/consumer brand. He has genuine, hands-on experience of understanding the real world issues impacting both investors and owner managed businesses, including building a start-up brand, creating an innovative product, securing investment and developing a growth stage business. In this role Ian received a Certificate of Merit in the IoD Scotland Director of the Year Awards and won the Scottish EDGE Entrepreneurship Award.
